Photos: Prairie grass that they burn in the spring.

This is an acre lot of prairie grass that they burn in the spring for a demonstration. The flowers blooming in this field are pretty, pretty. It's hard to believe that it will turn into a dry old field that is so dangerous. Prairie fires can burn at 70 miles per hour. I wouldn't want to be caught in one in a wagon.






Here's one picture of the burning. there are more under pictures, March, 2012 in our blog. It only took about 3 or 4 minutes for the whole thing to go up in smoke.
