May 31, 2012, Doe and fawn in Old Nauvoo

May 31, 2012:
We performed in Rendezvous in Old Nauvoo last night. After a girl came up to Elder Scott in tears and said he looked just like her great grandfather. He didn't think to ask her who. I told him as far spread as his family is, it could have been one of his brother's grandchildren. We don't know the great grandchildren of his brothers.
Elder Scott fell at the barn today and his right shoulder is hurting worse. He can't hardly raise it at all. He is probably not going to be a teamster any more, but there is plenty more for him to do here.
We went for a critter ride after and saw a doe and her fawn. Didn't get very good pictures though.

May 20 through May 27, 2012

May 20, 2012,
Elder Scott and I served in the Blacksmith Shop together and today, May 27, we served in the Brickyard together. Once a week, at least, we are scheduled to serve together in a site.
May 23, 2012
I was in the Land and Records site and a couple came in and were looking up Zerah Pulsipher and William Burgess. It was interesting to help them because he is Elder Scott's ancestor so that meant we are related. There names are Linda and Jim Collard from Payson, Utah (801-372-0712). In the process, I was able to find that Zerah had more land here also.
On the 24th, I was in the Log School house. The wagon carrying the Nauvoo Brass Band came right in front of the place and stopped and played a whole song for us. It was great. Like a dork, I didn't get my camera and take pictures. I could have got some great pictures. Maybe another time, hopefully.
Ont the 25th, I was in the Brigham Young Home and  two couples came, the Jauzzi's and the Arrinton's. Mr. Arrington has played the part of Brigham Young many times. He said he has been shot right in that home. I asked him, "With a gun?!!" Mr Jauzzi said he liked that, it was funny. It was intimidating to give them a tour, but I did it. At the end, in the council room, Mr. Arrington quoted, very forcefully, Brigham Young's testimony. It was awesome. The sister I was serving with and I felt that it was a blessing to us to have them visit.
Last night,  May 26, we performed Sunset on the Mississippi for the first time and we do it again on Monday because it is the monthly change. We do a tribute to all the different armed forces and honor them by singing their songs. Elder Scott gets to carry the Navy flag in and hold it while we sing because he was in the Navy. :)

Fawn by our car in the driveway, May 22, 2012

May 22, 2012:
We went out to the car to leave and Elder Scott said, come around here quietly. I walked around the car and there was this cute little fawn. We couldn't even drive out of the driveway. Elder Scott called Elder Call and he said to put gloves on and move it a little ways carefully. I took pictures while he went to get his gloves. The second he touched it, the fawn bleated very loud and ran under the fur tree. That night we found out there were two of them back there. Never did see the doe. I was worried that something had happened to the doe, but this morning the fawns were gone. I'm assuming she came and moved them. I love having the nature around us so close.
