September 1, 2012:
We both served in the Family Living Center today from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. It was interesting. I sewed the whole day except for about 45 minutes at the end. I put together ready to tie 3 small quilts and Sister Pierce tied 2 of them. I also sewed 2 flannel receiving blankets. Usually I haven't enjoyed serving there as much, but it was enjoyable today. I gave a candle demonstration the last minute. The only demonstration I gave all day. There were plenty of missionaries serving there though. We were kind of extras and Pierce's were supposed to be in the Pioneer Pastimes site. It's outdoors and it rained off and on all day so they were there also. It's wonderful to have some rain. The grass is responding all ready. And Sister Baker came for a short time. She must have been on the Wagon Narration. They usually come to the Family Living Center until their time is over if there are no wagon rides.
I heard there is going to be 2 shows of Rendezvous in Old Nauvoo tonight. It is our cast tonight so that should be tiring. The 2nd show ends about 9:15 pm and church starts at 8:00 am. We are really back in the harness. We are going to Scovill Bakery tomorrow 12:30 to 5:00. The fall hours are starting tomorrow. Mostly shorter hours, except for Sunday. Looks like Sunday is going from 3 hours to 4 1/2 hours. Probably because so many people are leaving. Used to have two three hour shifts, now one 4 1/2 hour shift. Oh well, that will be OK. We get to be together on Sunday.
Love you all.
